Schools First Aid (PFA + EFAW bolt on)

Aimed at those working in schools, or who required both child and adult training

Service Description

This course is aimed at schools and other professionals who may need both Paediatric training and First Aid at Work with EYFS and Ofsted requirements. The first half of the course will be done online, with the second half completed in the classroom. Offering a Bolt On package to offer both Full PFA and Emergency FAW courses in one. Content included in this course: * The role of a first aider and being prepared for emergencies * Assessing emergency situations and prioritising what action to take * Helping a baby, child or adult who is unresponsive and breathing normally * Helping a baby, child or adult who is unresponsive and not breathing normally * Helping a baby, child or adult who is having a seizure * Helping a baby, child or adult who is choking * Helping a baby, child or adult who is bleeding * Helping a baby, child or adult who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock) * Helping a baby, child or adult who is suffering from anaphylactic shock * Helping a baby, child or adult who has had an electric shock * Helping a baby, child or adult who has burns or scalds * Help a baby, child or adult who has a suspected fracture * Helping a baby, child or adult with head, neck or back injuries * Helping a baby or child with a foreign body in eyes, ears or nose * Helping a baby or child with an eye injury * Helping a baby or child with a bite or sting * Helping a baby or child who is suffering from the effects of extreme heat or cold * Helping a baby or child having: a diabetic emergency; an asthma attack; an allergic reaction; meningitis & sepsis; and febrile convulsions

Cancellation Policy

Payment for this course is required in full at booking, with services withheld for non-payment. Cancellations must be in writing (please email), incurring a 50% charge if made anytime up to 2 weeks prior, and 100% if less than 14 days. Group re-bookings and single attendee swaps are at STAR's discretion, subject to at least 30 days' notice is given, and registration fees being covered. If we need to postpone, alternative dates or venues will be offered. All learners must act honestly and respectfully, and follow STAR's Learner Agreement, or services may withheld.
